Killer for hire: Suspect in Eastleigh murders says he was hired to kill women

Murder suspect Hashim Dagane Muhumed.

Investigators say Hashim is suspected to be part of a gang hired to kill three women from Eastleigh: Warris Daud, her daughter, and her niece, Nusayba Abdi.

Fresh revelations have emerged in the gruesome murder case involving Eastleigh suspect Hashim Dagane Muhumed, who has confessed to being hired to kill multiple women.

The suspect admitted to detectives that he was paid millions of shillings to carry out the murders, including the brutal killing and dismemberment of Great Lakes University student, Deka Abdinoor.

Investigators say Hashim is suspected to be part of a gang hired to kill three women from Eastleigh: Warris Daud, her daughter, and her niece, Nusayba Abdi.

The motive is believed to stem from a love triangle involving Warris and another woman.

Hashim confessed to killing Deka because she had discovered his involvement in the murders of Warris, Nusayba, and Amina Abdi.

On Friday, Hashim led detectives to Lang’ata Cemetery in Nairobi, where he claimed to have disposed of parts of Deka’s body.

Police had earlier recovered some of her remains from the cemetery but were searching for missing body parts, including parts of her hands and legs.

Despite an extensive search, detectives were unable to find the remaining body parts, which they suspect may have been scavenged by hyenas from the neighbouring Nairobi National Park.

DNA samples have been taken, and Deka’s family is awaiting results to confirm the recovered remains.

Police are now intensifying their investigation to trace other individuals who may have been involved in the murders.

Authorities believe the gang members were each paid over Sh1 million to execute the killings, making this one of the most chilling murder cases in recent memory.

Hashim remains in police custody and is expected to appear in court on December 2, 2024.

He faces multiple murder charges for what investigators have described as a series of calculated and horrifying crimes.
