Mogadishu, Sunday, 15 September 2024: – The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, His Excellency Hamza Abdi Barre, who inaugurated the National Blood Bank Center, highlighted the importance of this facility to the Somali people, especially in ensuring an adequate supply of blood that can save the lives of many in need of urgent medical care.
The Blood Bank Center is a modern facility established in the capital and equipped with the latest advanced machines. It is expected to play a significant role in rescuing patients in need of blood, greatly contributing to reducing the shortage of healthy, sufficient blood available for patients.
Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre also visited Banadir Hospital, where he inspected the kidney dialysis department, which has also been outfitted with modern equipment and will provide free services to patients.
Mr. Hamza emphasized that improving healthcare services is one of the key pillars of the government’s agenda, reiterating that public health is the foundation of development.
The Prime Minister urged healthcare workers to continue their efforts to ensure that medical services are effective and accessible to all Somali citizens.
Lastly, the Prime Minister expressed gratitude to the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its assistance in establishing and renovating these healthcare facilities.
