Wednesday, September 18, 2024 Opening Ceremony of the 2nd Annual Conference of Presidents of National and Regional Parliaments of the 6th PAP Legislature (18-20 September, 2024).
The Speaker of the National Assembly SRM #Dileita_Mohamed is on a trip to South Africa to participate in the work of the 2nd Annual Conference of the Speakers of National and Regional Parliaments of the 6th Pan-African Parliament (PAP).
This conference is being held in conjunction with the continuation of the work of the PAP commissions session, which was held from 13 to 20 September 2024 at PAP headquarters, Midrand, South Africa.
The second of its kind in the current legislature, this conference under the theme “Educating an Africa Adapted to the 21st Century” signals the exit of crises and the revival of PAP activities.
The official opening ceremony was held this morning under the chairmanship of the PAP President Hon Chief Fortune Charumbira and in the presence of many guests of honor including:
– Hon. KemboDugish Campbell Mohadi, Vice President of the Republic of Zimbabwe
– Hon Mrs ThokoDidiza, Speaker of the National Assembly of South Africa;
– M. WamkeleMene, Secretary General of the African Continental Free Trade Zone (ZLECAf) Secretariat.
In addition to President Dileita Mohamed Dileita, the Djibouti delegation consists of permanent members of the PAP namely the Honourable Halo Mohamed Ibrahim, Abdallah Barkat Ibrahim, Mahamoud Moustapha Daher and Houssein Mohamed Ali as well as the Secretary General of Parliament Ambassador Ismael Goulal Boudine.
Also, it should be noted that a vibrant message of solidarity was delivered by the Palestinian Ambassador to South Africa, thanking Djibouti for its constant support to the Palestinian cause.
