February 24, 2025; The president of the federal republic of Somalia Mr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud had a fruitful meeting with the leader of Libya Senate, Honorable Mohamed Al-Manfi and the Prime Minister of the country Mr. Abdihamid Dubayba who discussed strengthening the relationship between the two countries and the cooperation between migration, economy, energy and diplomacy.
The president focuses on the situation of the Somali migrants in Libya, thanking the Libya government for the cooperation of the Somali immigrants who are facing difficult circumstances in the country, and he remembered that the government of Somalia is determined to make a lasting solution. to overcome the problems of migration and welfare of citizens.
The meeting also discussed the joint interests of the two countries and how to strengthen the economic and political cooperation between the two brother governments.
Libya’s President and Leader have agreed to promote energy cooperation, emphasizing the importance of exchange of experiences and modern technology in renewable energy and fuel exploration.
Also, President Hassan Sheikh and Prime Minister Cabdixmiid Dabaybah were present to sign several agreements to strengthen the cooperation of the two countries, which were signed by the two governments and the ministers that are concerned, to increase the cooperation of investments, financial integration and social services.
